NAVASSA, NC — Deputies with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Navassa man on multiple felony charges during a morning operation.
James Durrett, 79, of Navassa, was taken into custody on July 16, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m.
Authorities charged Durrett with;
- Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Possession With Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver (PWIMSD) Cocaine.
Durrett was transported to the Brunswick County Detention Center for processing.
All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
