WHITEVILLE, N.C. — The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences at Whiteville has announced the return of its popular “Movies on Madison” summer event series, offering local families a blend of outdoor cinema and interactive educational activities over the next three months.
The free community events will feature themed activities inside the museum prior to each screening, giving children and families a chance to explore the exhibits before heading outside for the movie.
Summer 2026 Screening Schedule
All events take place on Friday evenings, with museum festivities kicking off at 7:00 p.m. and the films rolling at dusk, approximately 8:00 p.m.

June 5, 2026: The Land Before Time (Featuring dinosaur and paleontology-themed floor activities)

July 10, 2026: Curious George (Featuring wildlife exploration and curiosity-themed stations)

August 7, 2026: The Iron Giant (Featuring space and technology-themed interactive exhibits)
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, bug spray, blankets, and refreshments for the outdoor screenings, which take place adjacent to the museum facility located at 415 South Madison Street in downtown Whiteville.
