RIEGELWOOD, NC — A theft investigation in eastern Columbus County has led to the arrest of two Leland residents accused of stealing lawn equipment across the Riegelwood and Delco communities.
Detectives with the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division took 37-year-old Christopher Parrish and 43-year-old Ashley Nicole Harrell, both of 113 Lake Drive in Leland, into custody on July 20.
According to warrants and law enforcement statements, the pair allegedly targeted multiple properties in the Riegelwood area, stealing string trimmers and attempting to take a chainsaw.
In Columbus County, both Parrish and Harrell face identical charges stemming from the spree:

Attempted Larceny (1 count)

Misdemeanor Larceny (3 counts)
In addition, Parrish was served with an outstanding warrant for felony failure to appear.
Following their apprehension, investigators confirmed that both suspects were also wanted on active warrants in neighboring Brunswick County, where they face similar larceny charges alongside counts for possession of cocaine and failure to appear.
Parrish and Harrell were processed at the Columbus County Detention Center under secured bonds. Sheriff W.A. Rogers noted that the department remains committed to addressing property crimes and encouraged local business owners and residents to share any home or commercial security footage that could assist in ongoing theft inquiries.
Any individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
