LC was a kind-hearted family man, who was known for his integrity and honesty; It was often said that he would cheat himself before he cheated others. He had a true passion for farming. Following retirement, LC still grew and sold fresh produce all throughout Columbus County.

He worked hard all his life. He grew up working on his Grandfather’s farm in the summer and the saw mill in the winter. As a teen he worked at the paper mill in Georgetown, SC. Later he was employed as a peanut grader for the government but his passion was always farming. His dream was to have a loving family, own a farm and build a home. By working diligently with his wife, together they made that dream come true.
