Jonas Floyd Moore, age 68, of Ash, NC, passed away Friday, May 8, 2026, at Novant New Hanover Regional Healthcare. Jonas was born in Bladen County on October 20, 1957 to the late Calvin Hanes Moore and Gladys Moore. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters; Fonnie Locklear, Irene Lennon and Faye Jacobs and his brother; David Haynes Moore.
Jonas was a Pipe Fitter by trade and worked in construction for more than 30 years. He loved to ride horses as well as taking care of his dogs and going fishing. Above all though, he loved his Lord and Savior. He was an active member of Mt. Sinai Holiness Church.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Crystal Barefoot Moore of the home, three sons; Ashton Moore of Raleigh, John Ameri (Addy) of Leland and Anthony Ameri of Bolton, a daughter; DeAnn Ameri of Leland, two step daughters; Cigi Ballard (Alec) of Ash and Kelly Ballard (Allen) of Shell Point, 5 grandchildren, a special grandson; Devlyn Bennett, brother; Willie Calvin Moore (Zelma) of Bolton, two brother in laws; Jimmy Jacobs and Fulton Locklear, one sister in law; Lori Moore, a special niece; Florence Stubberfield, and nephews; Gerald Graham and Tracy Graham.
A funeral will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Mt. Sinai Holiness Church with Pastor Michael Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Bolton. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 2:45 pm prior to the service.
