Johnny Mitchell Norris, age 73, of Whiteville, NC, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026 in his home. Born March 7, 1952 in Horry County, SC, he was the son of the late J.D. Norris and Mary Elizabeth Hardwick Norris.
He is survived by two daughters, Tara Watts of Tabor City, NC and Johnnie Michelle Cartrette (Randy) of Whiteville, NC; one brother, Jimmy Norris of Tabor City, NC; four sisters, Margaret Leclair (Bob) of High Point, NC, Carolyn Sellers of Whiteville, NC, Faye Fowler of Wilmington, NC, and Linda Gore (Joey) of Tabor City, NC; one grandson, Nick Watts (Sarah); six great grandchildren; and fur grandbaby, Mollie Anna.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Williams Norris; one daughter, Selena Sue Smith; one granddaughter, Amy Jo Watts; two brothers, Hallie Norris and Brooks Norris; and one sister, Pamela Renee Norris.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Myrtle Green Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
