Jeremy William Blackburn, 43, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at his residence. Born on May 19, 1983, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the middle child of William Albert and Susan Lee Oberlin Blackburn.
At a young age, Jeremy moved to North Myrtle Beach where he attended NMB Elementary, NMB Middle and graduated in 2000 from NMB High School. While in high school, he was a drummer in the NMB High School Band, where his father was the Band Director. Following high school, he attended and received his associate’s degree from Horry Georgetown Technical College. Although his degree was in HVAC, Jeremy found his calling was the restaurant industry. He began working at the age of 15 busing tables at the former restaurant Tar Babies, in Cherry Grove and worked his way to Kitchen Manager at TGIF, Front House Manager at Chestnut Hill, and was currently General Manager with Taco Bell.
While working at TGIF, he met the love of his life, Kapui Leon-Rodriguez. The two were married on October 22, 2023. They share two beautiful sons, Jeremy and Dominic. He was a wonderful and dedicated husband and father who treasured every moment with his family.
Always an outdoorsman, Jeremy enjoyed surfing as a teenager, fishing, cooking (and eating), and was fortunate to have a “green thumb” in the garden.
Surviving in addition to his parents, wife, and children is his brother, Nathan Blackburn (Julie) and sister, Tara Brown (Adrian).
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Lee Funeral Home, 11840 Highway 90, Little River, SC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the South Carolina Autism Society, scas@scautism.org.
