Meeting includes reconsideration request, 11 variance cases, and two special exception hearings.
Conway, SC — The Horry County Zoning Board of Appeals will convene Monday, June 8, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Horry County Government & Justice Center, 1301 Second Avenue in Conway; the Planning & Zoning office can be reached at 843.915.5340
The session will begin with the invocation, Pledge of Allegiance, and the swearing‑in of staff before moving into communications and approval of the May 11 meeting minutes.
The board will first revisit one item under old business: a reconsideration request for case 2026‑03‑002, filed by P3 Engineering on behalf of C. F. Smith Properties, Inc., concerning property at 73 Highway 57 South in Little River.
One previously deferred variance request also appears on the agenda. Case 2026‑04‑011, submitted by Bill Wheelhouse for Journey Church of Myrtle Beach, is listed again following its earlier delay.
New business includes 11 variance applications from across the county. These range from residential properties in Conway, Murrells Inlet, and Little River to filings by Habitat for Humanity of Horry County and Development Resource Group. Locations include Trestle Way, Pebble Lane, Starr Drive, Reamer Drive, Rainbow Drive, Olive Branch Way, Highway 471, Highway 17, and the intersection of Highway 57 and Coats Road.
Two special exception requests will also be heard. Arcadian Adventures LLC has filed for a property on Mill Pond Road in Galivants Ferry, while Sayuri Calvo, representing Lisa and William Fridley, seeks approval for a site on North Highway 701 in Conway.
Before adjournment, the board will consider a motion authorizing staff to type handwritten edits into the finalized Board Orders, reflecting motions passed during the meeting.
