New Recycling & Convenience Center Expected to Open This Fall (Provided)

LONGS, SC — Horry County officials say construction is moving forward on the county’s newest Recycling & Convenience Center, located on Highway 90 near Long Bay Road and Water Tower Road.

The facility is expected to open in October and will expand access to recycling and solid‑waste services for residents in the Wampee and Longs communities.

Once open, the Highway 90 site will become Horry County’s 26th Recycling & Convenience Center. County leaders say the project is funded through impact fees and is intended to improve service coverage in fast‑growing northern areas of the county.

The new center will offer standard recycling and convenience‑center services, giving residents a closer option for household waste disposal, recyclable materials, and other accepted items. Officials plan to release the official opening date and operating schedule once construction is complete.
