Highway 90 Reopens After Morning Log Truck Fire Near Hillsborough Drive

Horry County, SC — All lanes of Highway 90 near Hillsborough Drive have reopened after an overturned log truck caught fire Monday morning, blocking the roadway for several hours.

Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched at 8:16 a.m., May 18, to a single‑vehicle crash in which a log truck overturned and ignited. Crews brought the incident under control, and the fire was fully extinguished. No injuries were reported.

The roadway remained closed while responders worked the scene and until debris and the vehicle could be cleared. HCFR announced the full reopening at 12:20 p.m.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, and Horry County Police Department assisted with traffic control.
