Heroes don’t always wear capes — sometimes they’re in turnout gear.
Horry County, SC — Earlier today, Horry County Fire Rescue crews from Station 20 (Scipio) were dispatched to a residence for a public service call involving a cat perched high in a tree and unwilling to come down.
Firefighter/EMT Cervenka worked a little charm and a little strategy, offering wet cat food and a few friendly purrs until the feline in question crept close enough for a safe grab. The cat was unharmed and returned to solid ground without incident.
According to Horry County Fire Rescue (HCFR), none of the cat’s nine lives were spent thanks to the careful work of the responding team.
Crews say they do whatever they can to help, no matter the nature of the call and today’s rescue was one more example of that commitment.
