RALEIGH — April 24, 2024 — Governor Josh Stein has announced a new round of appointments to more than a dozen state boards and commissions, naming leaders from across North Carolina in fields ranging from public safety and education to health care, engineering, and early childhood development.
The appointments include:
Western North Carolina Recovery Committee
- Chris Sigmon of Yancey County, appointed as an at-large member.
Juvenile Justice Planning Committee
- Dr. Peter J. Kuhns of Durham County, representing public agencies focused on delinquency prevention.
NCWorks Commission
- Carnessa Ottelin of Wake County, representing the chemical industry.
- James Arthur Goodnight of Wake County, representing business and industry.
Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors
- Hope Morgan of Alamance County, appointed as a registered land surveyor.
- Bellandra Benefield Foster of Guilford County, appointed as a registered engineer.
Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
- Gloria Lewis of Granville County, appointed as a public member.
