A free native tree giveaway is happening Saturday, March 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Riegelwood Baptist Church, 103 NC Highway 87 in Riegelwood. Trees will be available while supplies last.
The Alliance for Cape Fear Trees is distributing 1,000+ native trees to area residents, with support from the Duke Energy Foundation. The event is open to everyone, and each household may receive up to two trees.
The Alliance has hosted recurring free tree giveaways for years, distributing thousands of native trees across the Cape Fear region to help rebuild the local canopy. This Riegelwood event continues that tradition by expanding the program into rural communities and increasing access for residents outside Wilmington. For a full list of available species, click here
