A cheerful lineup of family-friendly, town-hosted egg hunts returns for 2026.
Families across Brunswick County will have several opportunities to celebrate spring with free, town‑hosted Easter egg hunts this year. Five municipalities have announced their 2026 events, offering children of all ages a chance to enjoy outdoor fun, meet the Easter Bunny, and take part in long‑standing community traditions.
All events listed below are free and open to the public, hosted directly by Brunswick County towns.
Shallotte – Mulberry Park
Saturday, March 28, 2026, 9:00 a.m.
Location: Mulberry Park, 123 Mulberry Street
Hosted by the Town of Shallotte and Brunswick County Parks & Recreation, this morning hunt features age‑divided search areas for children 10 and under. Families can also meet the Easter Bunny and enjoy the park’s spring atmosphere.
Age Groups:
• Ages 3 & Under – Amphitheater
• Ages 4–6 Left of the Large Field
• Ages 7–10 Right of the Large Field
Southport – Franklin Square Park & Garrison Lawn
Saturday, March 28, 2026, 10:00 a.m.
Southport’s annual hunt begins at Franklin Square Park for ages 5–12, with more than 1,000 candy‑filled eggs and two golden eggs containing special prizes. The hunt for ages 4 and under follows immediately afterward on the Garrison Lawn, featuring 500 eggs and two golden eggs of its own. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos at both locations.
Leland – Spring Fling at Founders Park
Saturday, March 28, 2026, 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Location: Founders Park, 113 Town Hall Drive
Leland’s Spring Fling expands the traditional egg hunt into a full community festival. Multiple age‑group hunts take place throughout the morning, along with a trail of local organizations, face painting, food trucks, and family activities.
Egg Hunt Schedule:
• 10:00 a.m. Ages 1–3, 4–6, 7–9, 10–13 then from 10:45 a.m. Ages 1–3, 4–6, 7–9, 10–13
• 11:30 a.m. Ages 1–3, 4–6, 7–9, 10–13 and again at 12:15 p.m. Ages 1–3, 4–6, 7–9, 10–13
• Final Hunt at 12:30 p.m. Ages 14–18
Each child may participate in only one hunt to ensure space for all families. Eggs contain candy only.
Ocean Isle Beach – Bunny Hop
Saturday, March 28, 2026, 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Location: Town Center Park, 11 East 2nd Street
Ocean Isle Beach invites families to its Bunny Hop, a free event featuring goodie stations hosted by town staff, police, fire, neighbors, and local businesses. Children can take photos with the Easter Bunny, play games, and enter to win the Ultimate Easter Basket.
Oak Island — Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, March 28, 2026, 10:00 a.m.
Location: Bill Smith Park; 4410 Fish Factory Road
Families can expect hidden colored eggs, photo opportunities, and appearances by the Easter Bunny
Oak Island loves our doggie friends too and are excited about bringing back their Annual Doggie EGG-stravaganza at Salty Dog Park (inside Bill Smith Park) on Saturday, March 28, 2026. The event starts at 11:30 a.m. and features egg hunts with prizes and treats for dogs, with separate hunts for dogs over and under 20 lbs.; pets must be up to date on vaccinations.
Boiling Spring Lakes – Easter Egg Eggstravaganza
Saturday, March 21, 2026, 10:00 a.m.
Location: Spring Lake Park
Boiling Spring Lakes will host age‑grouped egg hunts for children 0–5 and 6–10, each featuring a golden egg with a special prize. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos, and an ice cream truck will be on site. Families are encouraged to bring their own baskets.
