Brunswick County offers residents a no‑cost way to safely dispose of sensitive documents
BC News Staff Writer
Brunswick County residents will have a free opportunity to securely dispose of personal documents this spring. The county’s Solid Waste & Recycling Department will host its next public shredding event on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Brunswick County Government Center in Bolivia.
The event runs from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon, or until the shredding truck reaches capacity. This service is open to all Brunswick County residents and property owners, who will be asked to provide proof of residency upon arrival.
Participants may bring up to five boxes or bags of documents for on‑site shredding. Containers will be returned after emptying, and all materials should arrive pre‑bagged or boxed for efficient unloading.
County officials say the annual spring shredding event remains one of the most popular public services offered by Solid Waste & Recycling, giving residents a secure and environmentally responsible way to dispose of sensitive paperwork.
