City urges drivers to verify notices before submitting any payment
North Myrtle Beach, SC — Reports of fake parking citations circulating in the city have prompted a public alert from officials.
Several drivers have recently found notices placed on their vehicles that do not originate from any authorized parking authority.
Legitimate parking citations are issued only by the City of North Myrtle Beach or Pivot Parking. Any violation notice that does not come from either source should be considered suspicious, and payment should not be submitted until the citation has been verified.
Drivers who have questions, need confirmation, or believe they may have received a fraudulent citation can contact Pivot Parking at 843.480.3711.
Verification is recommended before making any payment to ensure the citation is authentic.
City officials are asking the public to help share this information. Increased awareness, they say, can help prevent others from falling victim to the scam and ensure fraudulent notices are reported quickly.
