Columbus County, N.C. — March 23, 2026 An interagency investigation involving the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the arrest of a woman accused of carrying out an extensive fraud scheme.
According to Sheriff W.A. Rogers, detectives with the Columbus County Criminal Investigations Division took Jennifer Parker into custody on March 18 following what officials described as a lengthy and detailed investigation into identity theft and larceny-related offenses.
Investigators say Parker allegedly used stolen identities and “multiple elaborate schemes” to obtain property from a victim under false pretenses. Detectives reported uncovering a pattern of deception aimed at securing financial gain.
As a result of the investigation, Parker faces a long list of charges, including:
- 15 counts of Felony Larceny
- 5 counts of Identity Theft
- 1 count of Safecracking
- 1 count of Obtaining Property by False Pretense
- 1 count of Altering Title
Authorities say she was arrested without incident.
Sheriff Rogers praised the teamwork between agencies, stating, “This case highlights the dedication of our Criminal Investigations Division and the importance of interagency cooperation. We remain committed to holding individuals accountable who attempt to exploit others through fraud and deception.”
The Sheriff’s Office is urging residents to safeguard their personal information and report any suspicious activity.
Officials emphasized that Parker is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law, noting that the information released is not intended to suggest guilt.
