COLUMBUS COUNTY — Four people from across North Carolina are facing a combined slate of human‑trafficking, prostitution, and drug‑related charges after a multi‑agency investigation led to their arrests late Tuesday, according to law enforcement records.
Deputies took two men and two women into custody on May 20 on charges ranging from promoting prostitution to trafficking and felony drug possession. The arrests occurred in Columbus County shortly before midnight.
The suspects and charges are as follows:
- Kareen Sheppard, 50, of Greensboro Charged with possession of methamphetamine and promoting prostitution. Bond: $25,000.
- Antonio Milligan, 39, of Mebane Charged with human trafficking, promoting prostitution, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, and felony cocaine possession. Bond: No bond.
- Olivia Anne Bryant, 27, of Mebane Charged with soliciting prostitution and promoting prostitution. Bond: $10,000.
- Rebecca Gainey, 28, of Jacksonville Charged with soliciting prostitution, promoting prostitution, and possession of methamphetamine. Bond: $60,000.


Authorities have not released additional details about the investigation, but arrest warrants confirm the charges and the circumstances surrounding the detentions. The case involves both narcotics‑related offenses and allegations of organized prostitution activity.
All four suspects were booked into the Columbus County Detention Center.
As with all criminal cases, the individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
