Just one minute after the identity theft call, deputies were dispatched to Love Mill Apartments in Whiteville for a reported vehicle theft.
The victim, Anthony Alexander Rodriguez, 33, reported his Ford Edge stolen from the complex. No suspect description was available.
The case remains under investigation.
