By Coastal Carolina News Staff Writer

Seasonal flu vaccines are now available or soon will become available at multiple locations across Brunswick County, Columbus County, and Horry County, according to provider listings and public‑health guidance reviewed this week. Pharmacies, urgent‑care clinics, and county health departments have begun administering standard trivalent flu shots, with expanded access expected as the fall vaccination window approaches.

In Brunswick County, residents can receive flu shots at Justice Pharmacy in Shallotte, Seashore Drugs in Calabash, Thomas Drugs in Oak Island, Novant Health Oceanside Family Medicine, Novant ExpressCare in Leland, and Walmart Pharmacy in Southport. Brunswick County Health Services will resume weekday operations Monday morning for those seeking public‑health vaccination options.

In Columbus County, flu vaccines remain available through the Columbus County Health Department in Whiteville, local pharmacies, and regional Federally Qualified Health Centers. North Carolina Immunization Program guidance notes that state‑supplied pediatric flu doses expired June 30, 2026, meaning providers are now administering privately purchased vaccines for the 2026–27 season.

In Horry County, pharmacies including CVS, Kroger, and Harris Teeter report active flu‑shot availability. South Carolina’s statewide pharmacy networks typically begin offering seasonal flu vaccines in mid‑August, with most locations already accepting walk‑ins or online scheduling.

Public‑health officials continue to recommend vaccination between September and October, though early immunization remains appropriate for individuals at higher risk of complications. Pharmacies and clinics across the tri‑county region report steady demand as residents prepare for the upcoming respiratory‑virus season.

Disclaimer:  This report is based on publicly available provider listings and state immunization guidance. Availability may vary by location, and residents should confirm hours and vaccine types directly with their chosen provider.
