Crash occurred near Coventry Road; SCHP leading investigation

Horry County Fire Rescue responded to a five‑vehicle pile‑up on Highway 17 near Coventry Road in South Carolina on Sunday, June 28, at about 3 p.m.
Crews reported multiple heavily damaged vehicles and temporarily closed travel lanes to manage debris and patient care. Three people were transported to the hospital for treatment. HCFR remained on scene to assist with roadway safety.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the collision with assistance from the Horry County Police Department.
