The Firearm Safety Workshop has been POSTPONED
Sheepdog Foundation and Columbus County Health Department partner to offer free community training.
CHADBOURN, NC — A free firearm safety workshop will be held on May 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 300 Alfred Hayes Drive in Chadbourn, through a partnership between The Sheepdog Foundation and the Columbus County Health Department.
The program is designed to give residents a foundation in responsible gun ownership, with an emphasis on preventing life‑threatening accidents and improving community safety. Participants will receive structured education, hands‑on training, and instruction in universal safety principles for handling and storing firearms and ammunition.
Organizers note that firearm safety remains a significant public health concern and say accessible education can help reduce preventable injuries. The workshop aims to equip citizens with essential legal and technical knowledge while promoting safer practices across Columbus County. This is not a conceal carry certification class.
