AFBF President Zippy Duvall said the organization is encouraged by the bipartisan effort behind the measure, which was championed by Rep. GT Thompson and Sen. Roger Marshall. The new law permits schools to once again offer whole milk as part of their meal programs.

Duvall said the change will give students access to additional nutrients while also opening new market opportunities for dairy producers. “Farmers applaud Rep. GT Thompson and Senator Roger Marshall for working to return whole milk to America’s schools, and to the president for signing the legislation today,” he said in the statement.

He noted that many farmers continue to face rising operating costs and tight margins. Expanding demand for dairy products, he said, provides meaningful support without adding financial burdens to taxpayers.

Duvall added that the Farm Bureau plans to continue working with federal officials on policies aimed at strengthening farm income and improving affordability for families.
