Traffic changes planned along Ocean Boulevard
Myrtle Beach City Manager Jonathan “Fox” Simons has issued the city’s annual Memorial Day weekend Executive Order, continuing a 10‑year public‑safety practice.
The order bans all golf carts except law‑enforcement carts on Ocean Boulevard south of 29th Avenue North from 12:01 a.m. Friday, May 22, through Monday, May 25, until traffic control devices are removed.
Memorial Day weekend is also designated an Extraordinary Event, allowing the Chief of Police to request outside assistance, hire additional personnel, require private security in designated areas, divert traffic, use property when necessary for safety, enforce no‑cruising zones, and adjust park hours.
