Elyse M. Nardozzi, 81, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026. Born on June 19, 1945, in Ossining, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Roberta Dymes Desiderio.
Affectionately known as Lisa, she was the wife of over 50 years to the late Frank Nardozzi, who passed in 2023. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and was dearly loved by all who knew her.
Following high school, Lisa owned and operated a hair salon where she was a talented hair stylist. She later decided to attend Mercy College, where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in early childhood education. Along with her sister, Linda, they opened “Happy Tots Childcare” where they enjoyed their time working alongside one another. In 2020, Lisa moved from Peekskill, NY to Little River. Although she moved from NY, she kept her friendships throughout the years while making new ones in South Carolina. She enjoyed the beach and began playing Mahjan weekly, as well as traveling as often as possible. Lisa was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Surviving is her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Pamela Nardozzi as well as two grandchildren, Stephen and Ryan. Lisa is also survived by her brothers, Nicholas Desiderio (Michele Johns), Robert Desiderio (Kathy), Joseph Desiderio (Florence), Thomas Desiderio (Anabel), Michael Desiderio; two sisters, Linda Desiderio and Mary Mandaro; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Jack Mandaro.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 12, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
