GOP field forms ahead of Aug. 11 special primary

Darline Graham Nordone, serving as South Carolina’s interim U.S. Senator, has entered the race for the permanent six‑year seat. Her decision adds to a growing Republican field ahead of the Aug. 11 special primary.

Declared GOP candidates include U.S. Representatives Ralph Norman and Russell Fry, former primary contender Mark Lynch, and attorney Duke Buckner.

Additional Republicans may file through July 28.

Democrat Annie Andrews is positioned for the November general election and will face the GOP primary winner.
