Curtis Hodge Nance

Curtis Hodge Nance, 79, of the Mollie Community in Clarendon, went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning, January 5, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loved ones.

A native of the Macedonia Community, Curtis was born on November 22, 1946, son of the late Ralph Nance and Lillie Jane Ivey Nance. In addition, he is also preceded in death by his siblings, Gene Nance, Rev. Linzy Nance, Rosemary Nance McColskey.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Worthington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.

Curtis faithfully helped run the family business, Ralph Nance and Sons Demolition, for many years. He was a loving Christian man and a devoted member of Emerson Original Free Will Baptist Church. Curtis was an amazing husband, a devoted daddy, and he proudly cherished his greatest title of all “Pa”. Loved by all who knew him, Curtis never hesitated to lend a helping hand and was always there for others.

The surviving family includes his wife, Judy Fowler Nance; children, Sheila Nance Smith (Ritchie) of Lumberton, Shane Nance of Evergreen, Darren Norris (Kristin) of Tabor City; grandchildren, Caitlin Brown (Cail), Erin Willis (Zachary), Shana Nance, Madalyn Norris, Dalyn Norris, Jase Gore; Great-granddaughter, Caroline Brown; siblings, Thurman Nance (Debbie), Mike Nance (Clara), Carol Floyd (Morris), Lisa Fields (Duane),  and many other special family members and friends.
