Local Volunteers Invited to Join Annual Clean-Up Day at Restwell Cemeteries
BOLTON, NC — The Town of Bolton is calling on residents, families, and local service groups to gather for the upcoming Bolton Cemetery Clean Up Day. This community-driven event is dedicated to the preservation and beautification of Restwell Cemeteries 1 & 2, ensuring these historic grounds remain a dignified place of rest for generations to come.
The clean-up is scheduled for Saturday, February 28, beginning at 8:00 am and concluding at noon. Located at 2508 Blacksmith Road, the initiative focuses on essential maintenance tasks that have become necessary due to seasonal growth and natural debris. Participants will work together to pick up fallen tree limbs, remove trash, and perform “weed eating” to trim back overgrowth around the headstones and pathways.
Organizers emphasize that this is a true grassroots effort, and all volunteers are welcome regardless of their connection to the cemetery. To ensure the morning is productive, all participants are asked to bring their own tools and supplies, including work gloves, trash bags, rakes, and gas-powered trimmers. By providing their own equipment, the community can maximize its impact and cover both cemetery sections efficiently within the four-hour window.
This event serves as a vital reminder of the importance of honoring local history through action. Whether you can spare an hour or stay for the duration, your contribution helps “Keep our Cemetery Beautiful” and strengthens the bonds of the Bolton community.
