Community Tips Lead to Major Drug Trafficking Arrest in Leland

Leland N.C. — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Leland man this week following multiple community complaints from residents of the SeaBrooke neighborhood. Residents reported concerns that Norman Jamar Dixon was supplying illicit narcotics in the area.

On January 7, 2026, Brunswick County Vice and Narcotics Agents took Dixon into custody in Leland without incident on outstanding felony warrants. During the arrest, agents recovered approximately 3.5 ounces of cocaine.

Dixon faces multiple charges, including trafficking cocaine and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver cocaine. The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office has also charged him with possession of a firearm by a felon. He is being held at the Brunswick County Detention Facility without bond.

Charges include:

  • Trafficking in Cocaine (14 counts)
  • Possession With Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver Cocaine (5 counts)
  • Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substances (5 counts)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (5 counts)

Sheriff Brian Chism thanked the SeaBrooke community and other residents who continue to report suspicious or illegal activity, noting that community information plays a critical role in keeping neighborhoods safe.
