Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Incident Report: July 10–13, 2026

The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple calls for service between July 10 and July 13, 2026, ranging from domestic disputes and property damage to assaults and warrant services.

Friday, July 10

  • Overdose Reported in Chadbourn: At 9:53 AM, Deputy Jordan E. Hunt responded to an overdose incident (26-1519) at 15 Larry Drive, Chadbourn. The victim was identified as 43-year-old Josh Godwin. No suspect information was available.

  • Domestic & Child Endangerment: At 11:38 AM, Deputy Jordan Hill responded to a domestic dispute and simple assault call (26-1521) at 12 Crown Point Drive, Riegelwood. The incident involved allegations of child endangerment. The victims listed were two female juveniles (ages 32 and 2). The suspect is described as a 52-year-old white female.

  • Warrant Service: At 1:34 PM, Deputy Aaron Dehne executed a warrant service (26-1522) at the Law Enforcement Center on Washington Street, Whiteville, on behalf of the Chadbourn Police Department. The suspect is a 28-year-old Black male standing 6’0″ and weighing 200 lbs.

  • Property Damage in Chadbourn: At 5:07 PM, Deputy Hunt responded to 1000 Cribbtown Road, Chadbourn, where a kitchen window valued at $200 belonging to Jodi Briana Hester was damaged (26-1523). The suspect is a 27-year-old white male.

  • Grand Larceny in Delco: At 5:14 PM, Deputy Hill investigated a misdemeanor larceny (26-1524) at 3957 Delco Prosper Road, Delco. A Kia K5 automobile and Milwaukee tools (including an impact driver, grease gun, and batteries) totaling $579 were stolen from Allen Lee Smith. The suspect is a 41-year-old white male, 5’11”, 185 lbs.

  • Assault on Government Official: At 10:00 PM, Deputy Da’Norie Mack responded to a trespassing call (26-1525) at 226 Mary White Road, Whiteville. The incident resulted in an assault on a government official (Deputy Mack) and second-degree trespassing against James Allen Arye. The suspect is a 37-year-old white male, 5’8″, 190 lbs.

Saturday, July 11

  • Warrant Service: At 1:27 AM, Deputy Mack executed a warrant service (26-1526) on behalf of the State of North Carolina at 98 Willow Lane, Chadbourn. The suspect is a 24-year-old male, 6’01”, 130 lbs.

  • Communicating Threats: At 8:00 AM, Deputy Dehne responded to 5685 Seven Creeks Highway, Nakina, where Eugene Butler reported communicating threats (26-1528). The suspect is a 34-year-old white male, 5’10”, 200 lbs.

  • Domestic Violence: At 1:06 PM, Cpl. Joseph R. Coleman responded to a domestic violence call (26-1530) at 14162 Rough and Ready Road, Cerro Gordo. The incident involved Kenneth Batten (33) and Tabitha Batten (44). Two suspects, a 33-year-old white male and a 44-year-old white male, were noted on the log.

  • Larceny of a Dog: At 3:05 PM, Deputy Dehne responded to 292 Hewett Drive, Whiteville, where Derek Hinson reported the theft of a white and black Australian Shepherd valued at $500 (26-1531). Two suspects are sought: a 57-year-old white male and a 59-year-old white male.

  • Drug Charges / Warrant Service: At 5:40 PM, Officer Mariah Patrice served warrants (26-1532) at 803 Washington Street, Whiteville, for Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver (PWIMSD) Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The suspect is a 42-year-old Black male, 5’10”, 160 lbs.

  • Assault with a Deadly Weapon: At 10:26 PM, Deputy Mack responded to a major domestic violence call (26-1535) at 175 Spring Meadow Road, Whiteville. A firearm was involved, resulting in charges of Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury, Assault by Pointing a Gun, and Injury to Real Property. The victims were Tyshon Jarrell Marley (41), Selena Ann Sellers (21), and Wanda Butler (68). The suspect is a 34-year-old Black male with black hair.

  • Vandalism: At 11:04 PM, Deputy William Scott responded to 14592 Sam Potts Highway in Bolton for property damage (26-1536). An Audi belonging to Heather Ann Robertson suffered $400 in damage. The suspect is a 35-year-old Black male, 6’04”, 195 lbs.

Sunday, July 12

  • Trespassing: At 1:42 PM, Deputy Hill responded to 3298 Sam Potts Highway, Hallsboro, where Shaniqua Nicole Bellemy reported a trespassing incident (26-1539). The suspect is a 39-year-old Black male, 6’02”, 240 lbs.

  • Juvenile Larceny: At 1:21 PM, Cpl. Coleman responded to 150 Larilin Street, Whiteville, regarding larceny and an undisciplined/delinquent juvenile (26-1540). The victim was identified as Kelly Hart.

  • Identity Fraud: At 3:23 PM, Deputy Hill took an identity fraud report (26-1541) from Jo Nicholette Cromartie at 203 Flemington Drive, Lake Waccamaw. Suspect information was unknown.

Monday, July 13

  • Resisting Public Officer: At 3:13 AM, Deputy Mack responded to 1105 N. JK Powell Boulevard, Whiteville, for an intoxicated and disruptive individual who was communicating threats and resisting a public officer (26-1542). The suspect is described as a 45-year-old white male, 5’10”, 220 lbs.

    All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
