WHITEVILLE, NC — Columbus County Schools has announced a comprehensive job fair for Saturday, May 16, 2026, as part of a strategic push to finalize staffing for the upcoming academic year. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Columbus County Board of Education (BOE) Central Services building, located at 2586 James B. White Highway South in Whiteville.

The fair offers a localized, face-to-face platform for job seekers to engage directly with school system recruiters and district leadership.

According to district officials, the event is designed to help candidates learn about specific job openings in their respective fields while providing a “one-stop shop” for those looking to join the regional educational community.

Current vacancies span multiple departments, with a high priority placed on recruiting licensed educators for K-12 core subjects, including math, science, and English. The district is also seeking applicants for exceptional children (EC) teachers and instructional support roles, such as teacher assistants and multi-classroom leaders. Beyond the classroom, essential operations positions are available for bus drivers, custodians, and child nutrition workers.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to arrive prepared for immediate professional interaction.

The district suggests that applicants bring multiple hard copies of their resumes and, for educators, proof of North Carolina or out-of-state professional licensure. To streamline the process, individuals should also have contact information for at least three professional references ready for potential on-site interviews. Business professional attire is highly encouraged to make a strong first impression with hiring managers.

To facilitate a more efficient hiring process, candidates are urged to visit the CCS careers page before the event. The portal allows users to create a profile, view all current vacancies, and submit applications electronically. For additional information regarding the fair or specific requirements, the human resources department can be reached at 910.642.5168, using extensions 24013 or 24014.
