WHITEVILLE, N.C. — The Columbus County Health Department is preparing for a phased move to new facilities, beginning with the relocation of several key services next week. Officials announced in a Facebook post that starting Tuesday, January 20, select clinical services will be offered at a new site located at 800 Jefferson Street, Unit 102, Whiteville.
The Jefferson Street location will temporarily house Child Health appointments, Immunizations, and WIC services as the department transitions into its updated spaces. Health officials emphasized that the move is designed to improve access and enhance the quality of care for families across the county.
Appointments for Immunizations and Child Health/Pediatric services will continue to be scheduled through the department’s main phone line at 910‑640‑6615, and the same clinical staff will remain in place to serve patients.
To support a smooth transition, Columbus County WIC offices are currently closed and will reopen at the new Jefferson Street location on Wednesday, January 21, at 8:30 AM. During the brief closure, WIC participants may continue directing questions to the program’s main number at 910‑641‑3904.
Health Department leaders noted that staff members are working diligently to prepare the new space and ensure continuity of services. Additional updates, including details on future phases of the move, will be released as plans progress.
The department expressed appreciation for the community’s patience and support during the transition, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining reliable, high‑quality care for Columbus County residents.
