BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Students from The COAST – Center of Applied Sciences & Technology earned top honors at the regional SkillUSA Crime Scene Skills Challenge, taking home 1st Place for their outstanding performance.
The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit played a key role in the team’s success, mentoring and coaching the students as they prepared for the competition. Investigators helped sharpen their techniques in evidence collection, scene analysis, and forensic documentation — all critical skills in real-world crime scene investigation.
“This win reflects the students’ hard work, dedication, and attention to detail,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “We could not be more proud of what they accomplished.”
The team will now advance to the SkillUSA State Championships, where they’ll represent their school and community on a larger stage.
