CERRO GORDO, NC — A 36-year-old Cerro Gordo resident is facing a slew of serious violent crime charges following a major domestic disturbance.
Christopher Arron Blackwell, residing at 1483 Coleman Cemetery Road, was taken into custody on July 27 by Columbus County Sheriff’s deputies. According to detention center records, Blackwell has been charged with felony second-degree kidnapping, felony assault by strangulation, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, misdemeanor larceny, misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun, assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a female, and a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.
Due to the domestic nature of the primary allegations and the severity of the violent offenses, Blackwell is currently held at the Columbus County Detention Center under no bond for the assault and kidnapping charges, alongside a combined $60,000 in secured bonds for the weapon and larceny charges.
Any individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
