Weekly Friday‑night program offers free dinner, worship, and Christ‑centered recovery resources for individuals and families seeking healing
OAK ISLAND, NC — Generations Church in Southport has expanded its community‑care outreach with a weekly Celebrate Recovery program, offering a Christ‑centered path toward healing for residents struggling with addiction, trauma, grief, and other life challenges. The ministry meets every Friday evening at the church’s campus at 4019 Executive Park Blvd SE.
Celebrate Recovery is a national, biblically based recovery model founded in 1991 at Saddleback Church in California. The program combines worship, teaching, testimony, and small‑group support to help individuals work through “hurts, habits, and hang‑ups” helping people take their next step with God.
Friday night programming begins with a free community dinner at 6:15 p.m., followed by worship at 7:00 p.m. Childcare is provided for ages 0–13, and organizers note that children under 13 do not attend the main recovery meeting. Parents pick up their children after the large‑group session concludes.
Weekly gathering is open to anyone seeking support, whether they are dealing with substance use, emotional pain, relationship struggles, or simply feeling “sick and tired of being sick and tired.”
