Investigation began after April 1 report to Boiling Spring Lakes Police.

BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC — On April 1, 2026, officers with the Boiling Spring Lakes Police Department received a report alleging possible indecent liberties involving a juvenile. Following an investigation, Eliodoro Enoel Rivas, 49, of Boiling Spring Lakes, was identified as the suspect.
Rivas has been charged with: Felony Indecent Liberties with a Child and Felony Statutory Sexual Offense with a Child by an Adult.
With assistance from the Leland Police Department, Rivas was arrested on April 24, 2026, and booked into the Brunswick County Detention Center, where he remains in custody with no bond.
Everyone is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
