SOUTHPORT NC – Brunswick Little Theatre is inviting young performers to take the stage this spring as the organization prepares for its upcoming youth production of Aesop’s (Oh So Slightly Updated) Fables. Open auditions will be held Thursday, March 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the theatre, located at 8068 River Road in Southport.
The production, written by Kim Wiley Esop, puts a modern twist on the classic moral tales. Organizers say the show is fast‑paced, humorous, and filled with surprises, including audience participation and plenty of energetic character work.
Auditions are open to children ages 7–15, and no preparation is required. Participants will read from the script and take part in simple improvisation exercises.
The show is directed by Rosina Whitfield, who says the theatre is looking for a wide range of young talent.
“We are looking for a diverse, enthusiastic and committed group of young performers for our cast,” Whitfield said. “This is a unique opportunity for young actors to build self‑confidence and learn stagecraft, while meeting new friends who share their interest in theatre.”
Performances are scheduled for May 1–3 at Brunswick Little Theatre.
