Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Announces Newest D.A.R.E. Officer Graduates

Strengthening Community Bonds Through Youth Education and Mentorship

Bolivia, NC — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office announced the graduation of its newest Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) officers. Both deputies successfully completed their specialized training on July 3, 2026, at the North Carolina Justice Academy – Samarcand.

The newly certified D.A.R.E. officers are:

• Deputy Ben Simmons – Jessie Mae Monroe Elementary

• Deputy Paul Parisi – Southeastern Christian Academy

These deputies are now fully prepared to implement the D.A.R.E. curriculum within their respective schools. The program focuses on empowering students to build confidence, make responsible decisions, and develop the essential skills needed to lead safe and healthy lives.

The Sheriff’s Office commends these deputies for their dedication to our local youth and their ongoing commitment to strengthening vital relationships between law enforcement, our schools, and the wider community.
