NORTH MYRTLE BEACH — One of the region’s most uplifting charity events is back this summer as the Bold & Beautiful Wigs for Cancer Charity Golf Tournament returns to Tidewater Golf Club, raising critical funds to provide free, custom wigs to cancer patients across the Carolinas and beyond.

The annual tournament — now a staple of the Grand Strand’s charitable calendar — supports Bold & Beautiful Wigs for Cancer, Inc., a 501(c)(3) ministry founded by 32‑year cancer survivor Marlisa Small. The organization gives away hundreds of brand‑new wigs every year, along with turbans, hats with hair, and breast prosthetics, all at no cost to patients.

A Mission Born From Survival

Small, diagnosed with Stage 4 cervical cancer in 1991, made a promise during her recovery: if she survived, she would dedicate her life to helping others through the emotional toll of cancer treatment. She kept that promise.

Today, her North Myrtle Beach–based ministry serves women, men, and children — including patients referred from Columbus County’s Donayre Cancer Center — and ships wigs nationwide and internationally.

“These wigs aren’t used or donated pieces,” Small often emphasizes. “They’re brand‑new, high‑quality wigs matched to each patient’s own hair so they can feel like themselves again.”

Why It Matters

Hair loss remains one of the most painful and visible side effects of cancer treatment. Bold & Beautiful’s work restores dignity and confidence at a moment when patients need it most.

The tournament is the ministry’s largest annual fundraiser, directly supporting the purchase of new Raquel Welch, Henry Margu, and other premium-brand wigs that retail far beyond what most patients can afford.

For many, the ministry’s support is life‑changing.

How to Register

Players and sponsors can sign up by calling 843‑424‑1638 or visiting the organization’s website. Spots typically fill quickly due to strong community support.
