Town officials warn residents to boil all water starting June 3 as crew’s complete waterline tie‑ins on Institute Street.
The Town of Chadbourn has issued a Boil Water Advisory beginning Wednesday, June 3, 2026, and continuing until further notice as crews prepare for overnight waterline tie‑in work on Institute Street.
A planned water outage for all Town of Chadbourn customers will take place from 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, through 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. The shutdown is required to complete maintenance and connection work on the system.
During this period, and until the advisory is lifted, residents are urged to boil all water used for human consumption — including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and preparing food — or use bottled water instead. Officials note that a vigorous one‑minute boil is sufficient to kill potential disease‑causing organisms.
Customers are also encouraged to conserve water whenever possible while the advisory remains active.
The notice was issued on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 4:20 p.m. by Steven Price with the Town of Chadbourn. For questions, residents may contact 910.654.4148.
