Co-op volunteers joined WARM NC to complete safety repairs, accessibility upgrades, and essential home maintenance.

Shallotte, NC –– BEMC had the privilege of partnering with WARM NC to support a neighbor in Shallotte.

The Brunswick Electric team rebuilt a ramp, pressure washed siding, tackled heavy yardwork, and installed smoke detectors. All small but meaningful projects that help keep the home safe for years to come. Crews focused on long-term safety, accessibility, and comfort, ensuring the resident can remain in their home with greater stability and independence.

WARM NC – Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry is a nonprofit that provides critical home repairs, accessibility modifications, and disaster‑related rebuilds for low‑income homeowners across southeastern North Carolina. The organization works primarily with elderly residents, people with disabilities, veterans, and families recovering from storm damage. By coordinating volunteers, skilled labor, and donated materials, WARM NC helps prevent homelessness, reduce safety hazards, and extend the life of existing homes in vulnerable communities.

For BEMC, partnering with WARM NC is an opportunity to give back directly to the people they serve. These projects strengthen neighborhoods, support future community resilience, and reflect the cooperative’s commitment to improving quality of life across Brunswick County.

“We’re grateful for the opportunity to lend a hand,” the co-op shared. “Thank you, WARM NC, for allowing BEMC to be part of it.”
