Anita Louise Ward Hill, 73, of Chadbourn, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, while in the Columbus Regional Healthcare System.
Anita was born on September 24, 1952, daughter of the late Robert “Rob” Lee Ward and Mity Louise Green Ward. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Glen A. Ward.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at China Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Wendell Ray officiating; burial will follow in the Ward Station Church of God Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the service, at the church.
Anita faithfully attended China Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She worked for many years as a CNA and also for Columbus County, North Carolina Social Services. She was a graduate of West Columbus High School and Southeastern Community College. In her latter years of life, she was a loving homemaker, wife and mother.
The surviving family includes her husband, Gregory Anthony Hill; two sons, Kaleb Gregory Hill and Jerrad Anthony Hill; brother, Criss Ward and wife, Brenda; sister, Bliss McPherson; special friends, Peggy Blanton and Brenda Kelly; special nephew, Gerald Ward and wife, Jenna; host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully request memorials be made directly to the funeral home, to assist with the burial fund.
