Suzi Mullins, 49, passed away on July 31, 2026 at her home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Suzi was born on June 14. 1977 in Richlands, Virginia to Gary Dotson and the late Janet Davis Dotson.
Suzi’s life was built around her 26-year marriage to Christopher Shawn Mullins. They both grew up in the same small town, Hurley, Virginia. They were classmates in their school years, dated briefly in high school, and then later rekindled their relationship in college at Radford University, Radford Virginia where they were later married.
Suzi and Shawn were blessed with two surviving children, Tarryn Olivia Maze of Maricopa, Arizona and Christopher Elijah Kaine Mullins of Hurley, Virginia. Suzi desired to be a mother early in her adult life and took great pride in celebrating motherhood and unconditional love for her children.
Suzi spent most of her adult life in Charlotte, North Carolina where she enjoyed a long career utilizing her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry from Radford University.
Suzi loved the ocean. She and Shawn later moved to experience beach life at the Pacific Ocean in Santa Monica, California and then at the Atlantic Ocean in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Suzi had an immense love for chemistry. It was not just a profession for her. She truly loved experimentation and learning how things work on a scientific level. She also loved law and crime books, television shows, and films. Suzi was an avid reader. It was not uncommon to see her with an actual paper-bound book in her hand anytime she found the time and opportunity.
Suzi had an enormous, caring and selfless heart. She always put her husband, children, family, friends, and acquaintances and their wants and needs way ahead of her own. Suzi strongly believed in diversity and acceptance for all and was a loud support for that cause. She was also a strong advocate for lessening and eliminating the stigmatism of mental illness.

Suzi requested there be no services.
Suzi will be eternally remembered as a tall beacon in a world in great need of light and warmth.
