Alice Faye Russ Meares, 75, of Fair Bluff, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at West Bladen Nursing Home in Bladenboro, NC.
Alice was born on October 7, 1950, daughter of the late Steven Charles Russ and Mamie Cook Russ. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Kenneth Meares; her son, Richard Kenneth Meares; siblings, Betty Humphrey, Frances Lawhorn, Leory Russ, and Charles Russ.
Funeral services will be conducted at Worthington Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 with burial to follow in the Porter Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherry M. Gunter (Billy) of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Hillary Green (Lee), Alley Blake and Kacy Gunter; and four great-grandchildren, Gracin Green, Sawyer Green, Landon Green, and Beckett (expected in September); siblings, Wiley Russ, Carl Russ, and Helen Cook.
