WALLACE — A Wallace man with eight outstanding misdemeanor failure‑to‑appear warrants was arrested this week after deputies located him on Log Cabin Road.

According to the Columbus County Detention Center report, Luis Arias Arreguin, 26, was booked on April 29 on a series of missed court dates spanning both Columbus and Pender counties. The report lists multiple secured bonds, including $250, $250, and $100, along with several “included in other” entries. Document citation: “FAILURE TO APPEAR ON MISDEMEANOR… Bond Amount/Type: $250.00 / Secured Bond… $100.00 / Secured Bond.”

Failure‑to‑appear charges typically stem from missed court hearings on prior misdemeanor cases. North Carolina law allows judges to issue immediate arrest orders when defendants do not appear.

Arreguin remained in custody as of the latest report.

All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
