  • Veterans Mental Health Meet & Greet is tonight, Monday, April 27 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Park of America, 6354 James B. White Highway S, Whiteville. A session focused on PTSD, Moral Injury, and Battlemind therapy resources. A free chicken bog dinner is provided for veterans and their families.

  • K-3 Year-End Testing held Tuesday, April 28 through Thursday, April 30 at Columbus County Schools

    • Details: Elementary students are participating in their end-of-year mClass assessments.

  • National Apprenticeship Week at SCC is Ongoing through Friday, May 1 at Southeastern Community College in Whiteville.

    • Food Truck Schedule at SCC Nesmith Student Center:  Tuesday: Delicious D’s at 11 a.m. and on Thursday: Groovy Whiskers Coffee from 8: a.m. – 10:00 a.m. and Southern Fried Chicken & Fish 11 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

  • Music in the Alley: Skyler Whitfield and Open-Air Farmers Market is Thursday, April 30

  • Columbus County Community Farmers Market – Tuesday, April 28 & Thursday, April 30 from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

    • Where: 132 Government Complex Drive, Whiteville

    • Details: A selection of seasonal produce, baked goods, and local handmade crafts.

  • Community Education & Art on Thursday, April 30: “Functional Fungi” educational session at the Columbus County Public Library in Whiteville.

  • Chadbourn Strawberry Festival starts up Thursday, April 30 at the strawberry event field behind Hardee’s. A chicken bog $10.00 plate sale at 5:00 p.m. and the musical group, Chocolate Chip and Company from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

  • Walk-In Testing Service at the Columbus County Health Department, 304 Jefferson Street, Whiteville. offering $15.00 walk-in pregnancy testing services.

  • Joint Camp at Columbus Regional Healthcare System on Tuesday, April 28 at 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Joint Camp is an educational session for those considering hip or knee replacement.

Government & Public Meetings

  • Whiteville City Council & Budget Workshop is Tuesday, April 28 at Whiteville City Hall from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. for a Budget Workshop covering Overview, Parks and Recreation, Economic Development, and Inspections, with the regular city Council Meeting from 6:30 p.m. 9:00 p.m.
