SHALLOTTE, NC — Camp United Methodist Church (CAMP UMC) has announced a dedicated community outreach initiative, offering free meals every Friday of the month to local residents. The program aims to provide both nutritional support and a space for community connection at their Main Street campus.
The outreach program is open to everyone, with no requirements for attendance. Organizers emphasize that all members of the community are invited to join the gatherings.
Every Friday, from 3:00 p.m. through 5:00 p.m. at Camp United Methodist Church, 4807 Main Street, Shallotte.
This Friday, May 1st, the outreach team will be serving a meal of Chicken Alfredo with broccoli.
The sustained success of the Friday meal program relies on local volunteerism and community contributions. The outreach team is currently seeking individuals to assist in several capacities, including:

Kitchen Operations: Assistance with food preparation and cooking.

Service & Hospitality: Volunteers to serve meals and interact with guests.

Event Support: Help with facility set-up and post-meal clean-up.
In addition to physical labor, the church is requesting donations of non-perishable items to stock their “Blessing Box” and pantry for future services. Current high-priority needs include:

Pantry Staples: Alfredo sauce and bow tie pasta.

Convenience Items: Chips and pop-top (easy-open) soups.

Canned Goods: Various canned vegetables.
Donations can be dropped off at the church office Monday through Thursday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Beyond physical donations and labor, the outreach team noted that community prayers for the success of the mission and the well-being of those served are always appreciated.
