Boiling Spring Lakes Man Charged in Attempted Residential Break-In

BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC — A local man faces a felony charge following an investigation into an attempted residential break-in that occurred earlier this year on Goldsboro Road.

According to official reports, officers with the Boiling Spring Lakes Police Department were dispatched on February 21, 2026, after a resident reported an unknown male attempting to enter an occupied home.

Following a two-month investigation into the incident, authorities identified the suspect as Michael Eugene Facemire, 61, of Boiling Spring Lakes. Facemire has been officially charged with felony attempted breaking and entering of a building.

Records show Facemire was booked into the Brunswick County Detention Center on April 21, 2026. He is currently being held under an $8,000 secured bond.
