Sunset Beach, NC — The Parkinson’s Community Support Group in Sunset Beach will hold its next meeting on April 29, offering a welcoming space for individuals living with Parkinson’s, along with caregivers and family members, to connect and share support.
This month’s speaker is Sandy Golias, MTBC, of Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Golias will discuss how music and vocal therapy can benefit people living with Parkinson’s and will outline plans for a new community choir aimed at strengthening vocal health and building connection.
The support group meets on the last Wednesday of each month and focuses on practical insight, shared experiences, and community understanding. Sessions often include guest speakers, caregiver resources, and simple movement to music.
The April 29 meeting will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Seaside United Methodist Church, located at 1300 Seaside Road SW in Sunset Beach. The gathering is free and open to the public. More information is available at my1010.org
