Men repeat as region 10 champions; women advance to semifinals in strong year for Dolphin’s athletics
BOLIVIA, NC — Brunswick Community College’s men’s and women’s basketball programs closed out one of their strongest combined seasons, adding to what officials described as a historic year for Dolphin’s athletics.
Men’s Team
The men’s program repeated as region 10/Atlantic District champions with a 90 – 76 win over Gaston College, securing another trip to the NJCAA National Tournament. The Dolphins finished 28 – 5, averaged 90 points per game, and went undefeated at home. Staff credited the team’s depth and consistency for the back‑to‑back postseason run.
Ladies Team
The women’s team advanced to the region 10 semifinals and posted key late‑season wins over Wake Tech, Richard Bland, and Catawba Valley. The Dolphins averaged 64 points and nearly 40 rebounds per game, marking steady improvement and a strong foundation heading into next season.
Athletics Momentum
Both programs contributed to a standout year across BCC athletics, with multiple teams earning regional and national recognition.
